IRON MAIDEN Singer At BBC RADIO 2 FOLK AWARDS Ceremony: Video Available

February 17, 2005

IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson presented the Best Band award to OYSTERBAND BIG SESSION at this year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards ceremony on Monday, February 14 at The Brewery in London.

Before revealing the winner of the award, Bruce explained how he got into folk music at a time when people enjoyed all kinds of music and musical genres were not as segregated as they are today. He also went on to say that IRON MAIDEN turned down an opportunity to attend the Brit Awards so that he could do something "much more fun" — present at the Folk Awards. Bruce also joked about the fact that no music that was performed on the night of the Folk Awards could be used as a mobile ringtone.
